WindRider has had inquiries of whether a larger boat might be produced in the future – something with a small cabin perhaps. Rather than designing a new boat, WindRider is pleased to announce U.S. representation of Astus, a sailing trimaran manufactured in France. The Astus line of trimarans provides U.S. sailing enthusiasts with new options in the growing multihull sailboat market.
Astus was founded in 2004 by sailboat designer Jean-Hubert Pommois. The company has grown over the years and now has four models to choose from: 18.2, 20.2, 22 and 24 (approximating length in feet) with vacuum infusion fiberglass construction. They are quite popular in Europe and represented by several international dealers who specialize in multihull boats.
WindRider’s brand is “Sailing Simplified” and Astus fits this standard by being fast, fun and safe; having been designed to offer maximum pleasure with minimum hassle. They are light and easy to launch and trailer. Their outriggers are mounted on telescopic tubes for easy stowage and towing. Just push the outriggers in and drive away.
The outriggers can also be extended and retracted on the water, giving you access to narrow passageways and monohull slips in marinas.
The Astus 20.2, starting from $29,550.
